Delhi Technological University (DTU) and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research - Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIR-CSIO) have joined hands under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote collaboration in academic activities, research, training and skill development.
The MoU was initiated by DTU’s department of applied Physics and provides a framework for both institutions to work together on mutual areas of interest. This academic partnership will create opportunities for students, faculty, and researchers to engage in joint research activities.
Speaking on the occasion, Prateek Sharma, vice-chancellor, DTU, said, “This MoU with CSIR-CSIO is a significant step towards bringing together DTU’s academic and research strengths and CSIR-CSIO’s scientific expertise and infrastructure, opening new avenues for knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary research, and joint scientific initiatives.”
Under the MoU, the institutions will explore staff exchange programmes and student training opportunities. Wherever allowed, they will also facilitate the exchange of scientific information and library resources.
The partnership will support the organisation of joint conferences, seminars, workshops and other academic events. DTU and CSIR-CSIO will also work towards joint supervision of graduate, postgraduate and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) students, along with collaborative skill-development programmes.
During the signing ceremony, Vinod Singh, head of the department of applied Physics presented the scope, common areas of interest and objectives which outline the agreement. He also highlighted the academic achievements and research contributions of the department.
Through the MoU, DTU and CSIR-CSIO aim to build long-term institutional cooperation and create new avenues for research and innovation. The collaboration is also expected to contribute to human-resource development and strengthen efforts towards scientific and technological advancement in India.
The MoU was signed at DTU in the presence of Vinod Singh, Girish Kumar, dean, and faculty members. The CSIR-CSIO delegation included Shantanu Bhattacharya, director, along with scientists G Narinder Singh Jassal and Vishal Chandane.
