The West Bengal Central School Service Commission (WBCSSC) has expanded its panel with four new members to speed up teacher recruitment and address pending selection issues.
The newly appointed members include three senior monks associated with the Ramakrishna Mission and a professor from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta.
Recommendation letters for classes 11 and 12 teacher recruitment will be distributed on August 14, 2026. However, Dushyant Nariala, Staff Selection Commission (SSC) chairman, said that there might be a change in the schedule.

This recruitment will have expertise from both the education sector and Ramakrishna Mission contributing to the commission.
Appointments for the four new members have come as the commission deals with multiple teacher recruitment processes. The commission has completed document verification for many candidates under the 2025 recruitment process, along with 1,177 pending upper primary posts from 2016.
Recruitment letters have also been issued for the 308 special education teacher positions. The latest appointments to WBSSC are expected to strengthen and expedite the completion of pending recruitment processes.
The new members have been appointed under the provisions of the West Bengal School Service Commission Act, 1997. As per the notification, the appointments will remain in effect until further orders.
