The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has started inviting registrations for its 29th conference, the International Symposium on Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETD) 2026. Scholars, librarians, and technology experts from around the world are expected to attend the event at IIT Delhi, as shared in a post on X.
ETD 2026 will be held from October 23 to 25, 2026, at IIT Delhi’s seminar hall. The theme, “ETDs in the Age of AI,” will focus on how AI is changing academic research. The conference is jointly organised by IIT Delhi and the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD).
NDLTD is a non-profit organisation with open access and long-term preservation of dissertations worldwide. IIT Delhi’s X post shares, “ETD 2026 brings together professionals and experts working at the forefront of research and scholarly communication.”
The three-day programme will include nine discussion threads that will include role in thesis writing and metadata generation to the ethics and governance of AI-driven scholarship. Below are some of the discussion topics:
The conference will also conduct a live ideathon that will allow attendees to test collaborative solutions. These solutions will address real problems in the ETD ecosystem.
The registration fee for ETD 2026 varies for Indian and international participants. Indian delegates must pay Rs 7,080, including 18% GST, while Indian students have to pay Rs 4,130, including GST. For international participants, the registration fee for delegates is 150 USD and 100 USD for students. Here’s a list of the target audience for the conference:
