The Maharashtra government has created a high-level task force to review the state’s recruitment examination system. The task force will recommend measures to make the exam system secure, transparent, credible and student-oriented. The task force was constituted through a resolution issued by the government on September 4, 2026.
The task force will visit all six divisions of Maharashtra during the month of September. It will directly interact with students, competitive examination candidates, parents, teachers, educational institutions and other stakeholders. The force will try to understand their concerns and note down the suggestions to improve the recruitment examination process.
The consultations will provide students or others concerned an opportunity to share their experiences and raise issues related to examination security, transparency and the exam’s conduct. The feedback collected during these visits will help the task force assess the existing system.
The first visit will be held in the Pune division on September 12 at Savitribai Phule Pune University. The task force will then visit Nagpur on September 16. The visit is scheduled to be held at DPDC Hall, Niyojan Bhavan, Civil Lines.
On September 17, the Amravati Division vist be be held. The following visit by the task force will be in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Division on September 21 at the Smart City Office near Aamkhas Maidan.
The task force will conduct its Konkan Division consultation on September 29 at Chetana College and the Mumbai Suburban collector's office in Mumbai. The final visit will be conducted on September 30 at the collector's office in Nashik.
The participants can send their suggestions and feedback to the email address that has been allotted for their division. Based on these suggestions, the high-level task force will submit recommendations that can prevent malpractices.
These suggestions can tighten exam security, improve credibility, and also make recruitment exams in Maharashtra safer and prevent leaks. Details of the timing of the visits by the task force, the process for participation, and other information will be announced separately. The information will be shared by the respective divisional commissioner's office.
