NEET PG Counselling 2025: The National Medical Commission (NEET) has approved an additional postgraduate (PG) seats after the medical colleges appealed against the decision of the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB). As per the NMC’s list of PG seats, 171 additional seats have been approved by committee, taking the total seats after the approval to 587 seats in 27 medical colleges.
The LOPs for these sanctioned PG seats for AY 2025-26 will be issued shortly. However, the counselling authorities need not wait for the LOPs from institutions to include them in the process.
Additional PG seats were approved based on the decisions of the first appeal committee meeting held on December 22 and 23, 2025.
Also, as per the NMC’s notice, MARB has requested to issue LOP after verifying the authenticity of the COA dated December 12, submitted by the Shri Balaji Institute of Medical Science, Shri Balaji Hospital Campus, Mowa, Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
NMC has asked teachers from government medical colleges to join the assessor pool for the inspection of medical institutions. MARB will start inspecting medical colleges for the 2026-27 academic year soon.

According to the official NMC notice, seats include clinical and diagnostic specialties such as general medicine, paediatrics, radiology, dermatology, psychiatry, orthopaedics, respiratory, emergency medicine, general surgery, anaesthesiology, obstetrics and gynaecology, medicine and pathology.
MCC will soon announce the dates for NEET PG counselling 2025 on the official website, mcc.nic.in.
