UPESSC forms five-member committee to review UPTET 2026 result grievances

The Uttar Pradesh Education Services Selection Commission (UPESSC) has formed a five-member committee that will examine the representations received from candidates after the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026 result was declared. The written examination result was announced on August 26, 2026.

Candidates who qualify the UPTET exam are eligible for the post of teachers in primary and upper primary schools in Uttar Pradesh. According to Prashant Kumar, UPESSC chairman, many candidates have approached the commission and expressed their dissatisfaction over the UPTET 2026 results.

Representations were received through registered post and email and also through personal visits to the Commission office. To make sure that the concerns were examined fairly, the Commission has established this committee. The committee will review the representations and examine the issues in detail. After assessment, the committee will submit its final report to the Commission.

Key concerns reviewed by the Committee

Some of the major issues that are highlighted in the representations include the rejection of OMR answer sheets during the evaluation process. Candidates have also raised concerns about the normalisation process used for the examination.

Many candidates believe that their scores were affected after marks were adjusted across the exam shifts. Some candidates have also claimed that the revised scores either reduced their marks or made them fall under the qualifying criteria. Another issue was discrepancies in the answer keys, since the candidates' answers did not match the revised or expected answer keys.

Committee report to decide on representation

The Commission will decide based on the findings about the fate of these representations. This means that the concerns of the candidates shall be reviewed before further action is taken on the grievances related to the UPTET 2026 result by the committee.

The committee will provide a formal mechanism that will review the candidate’s grievances. The Commission has said that the representations will be addressed after considering the committee’s report. Candidates are advised that they must mention the details of their concern clearly and provide relevant information while sending their representation.
