The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has started inviting nominations from faculty members of various institutes for the fourth edition of its Nurturing Future Leadership Programme (NFLP). This programme is funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India and is a five-day residential leadership development programme.
In a recent post on X, IIT Delhi said, “This is a prestigious, selection-based leadership development programme for faculty members envisioned to make ‘everyone a leader’. More than 100 participants have attended this program in previous editions.” The official University Grants Commission (UGC) portal has listed IIT Delhi along with Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya and T A Pai Management Institute as the host institutions for the October 26 to 30 batch.
Every participating institute can nominate two faculty members. One male and the other has to be a female. The programme is only open to full-time faculty members from IITs, IIMs, Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) and other central, state and private universities. Faculty members can be nominated only by their respective director, vice chancellor or principal.

The five-day residential programme will be held at the IIT Delhi Hauz Khas campus in New Delhi from October 26 to 30. All participants will be given a single-occupancy room and meals will be arranged from the evening of October 25 to the morning of October 31. The participant’s college or university will arrange and pay for their travel to IIT Delhi and then back.
Interested faculty members can register online by visiting the University Grants Commission (UGC) Malaviya Mission–Teachers Training Programme portal. The selection will be based on nominations received from eligible institutions.
The NFLP will provide faculty members with leadership development opportunities. It will also help institutions build a group of faculty members who have the skills to be appointed to leadership positions in universities or higher education institutions.
The programme is aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. NEP 2020 encourages institutions to identify faculty members who have the potential to become leaders in higher education institutions and train them.
