The National Testing Agency (NTA) has moved its office from Okhla to Minto Road in New Delhi. This shift was announced in a public notice from the NTA shared on September 14, 2026. This shift is part of a process to tighten examination security and improve the handling of confidential operations.
The official notice read, “All candidates, educational institutions, service providers, and the general public are advised to update their records and direct future official communications to the new address.”
The new office of the agency is located on the fifth floor of the Government of India Press Building on Minto Road. The relocation was announced after a review meeting was conducted in August, chaired by Pralhad Joshi, Union Education Minister. During the meeting, the NTA was asked to move its operations to the new premises on a “war footing”.
NTA conducts many major national-level examinations, including the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG), Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) and University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET). The security measures have come amid the NTA facing scrutiny over its various exam processes.

The NTA has been asked to put new security arrangements at its new premises. These include the deployment of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel. The agency is also working on major changes to its Confidential Operations (CONOPS) system.
As part of the newly revised system, dedicated rooms will be made for handling sensitive examination-related work. The National Testing Agency will also use air-gapped computer systems, which will be kept separate from external networks. This will allow the processing of confidential information.
The agency will further introduce mandatory device-deposit rules for personnel who are part of the sensitive operations. Under the system, employees must deposit electronic devices while they are working on confidential tasks. This will reduce the risk of unauthorised access or information leaks.
The Education Ministry has asked the NTA to conduct a detailed audit of its examination systems. They should also submit a report on corrective actions taken after the review. The NTA’s new office address is 5th Floor, Government of India Press Building, Minto Road, New Delhi, 110002.
